Weightless Words

Weightless Words is a relationship drama between a couple in deep struggle and conflict as our main character Terri comes to terms with the relationship no longer meeting her needs and being a toxic thing rather than the great thing it once might have been.

We shot 'Weightless Words' in Manchester over the course of four and a half days. Produced under 'Rocking Horse Media' with Luke Allen, who also runs his own production company at 'Ask Seek Knock'.

The team on board were a delight to work with and everyone played a pivotal role in helping me bring my vision to life and I am very proud of the end product.

'Weightless Words' is currently nominated for best short film at the 'Ink and Light Awards', with the winners announced on the 6th of June 2026.

Cloud even received a nomination from Belgium International Film Festival 2026.

Whilst we were unsuccessful in winning the selection, the achievement was delightful news and we are super proud and excited Cloud got a nomination nonetheless.

Cloud is a short film following a story between a father and his daughter as they walk along the beach reflecting back on memories they share of their wife/mother.

I put together a small crew to shoot this two actor drama short in the space of eight hours. The film was shot locally with local crew. The idea was a showreel script for Casey Gowland who plays Chrissy, and a writing practice for myself.

Cloud was super enjoyable to shoot as small productions usually are, everyone pitched in and it became a real collaboration.

Call Me

'Call Me', as it stands, is a feature film script that I have written which I submitted to the 'BBC Writers Open Call'. Unfortunately, I was not successful in the selection process. With the feedback I received, I have been adapting the script with an effort to improve it.

Currently, the project is no more than a script, but I have plans to one day produce and direct the film. The topics within it cover life in your early twenties, friendship and LGBTQIA+, as the film features a love story between two young women both exploring career, young adult life and love, true love - for the first time.

"In the heart of London, Riley, an introverted young woman, struggles with her own self-worth, constantly feeling overshadowed by her own expectations. Her best friends, Olivia and Gemma, are her safe harbor in the competitive corporate world, but beneath their tight-knit friendship lies a web of untold secrets and unspoken resentments.

Riley’s life takes an unexpected turn when she meets Ellie, an independent and self assured individual with a passion for creating queer jewellery. As their connection deepens, Riley is drawn to Ellie’s confidence and boldness—qualities Riley has long wished she could embody. Their journey begins with bitter and hard truths, forcing their relationship to hit a few bumps along the way as Ellie continues to push Riley to discover who she really is and the version of herself she could be displaying.

As Riley confronts her evolving feelings for Ellie and her struggle to find her own voice, the bond between the trio of friends begins to unravel. Long-simmering jealousy and lack of communication between the girls force Olivia and Gemma to confront their own truths, leaving Riley forced to step beyond her comfort zone and take what really belongs to her, moving past the low-level expectations of the life she had once pictured for herself.

Through moments of heartbreak and growth, Call Me explores the complexities of love, friendship, and the courage it takes to be true to oneself. As Riley embarks on her own self journey, she comes to learn the importance of independence whilst also relying on those around her to keep her grounded, humble and driven."
